The Samurai Tour Japan offers guests a unique experience and an alternative to simply visiting museums, temples and being caught in tourist traps. You can get a greater understanding of the life of the Samurai as we take you to a temple, teach you in the art of Tate-Do (Samurai stage combat) and film a short scene in which you will recreate a battle! Weather you live or die, remember - fight with honor!!
1) A representative of the tour will meet guests will be met at a train station close to the Temple (shooting sites vary - you will be informed of your tour site before the event)
2) Guests will be escorted to the Temple, and change into Kimonos.
3) Guests will then receive a lesson in Tate-Do, provided by a real master, with assistance given in both English and Japanese. The lesson will cover the basics, as well as your moves for the film. The lesson lasts approx. 1 hour.
4) Guests will then take part in a battle recreation based on the lesson they have just received. The recreation will be filmed ion the style of a traditional Samurai movie. Filming will last approx. 1 hour. As this part can be quite physically exerting, during the summer months we recommend Guests bring a bottle of water to the site.
5) The tour ends. Guests can change back into their normal clothes.
The video of your fight will be available from this site (Customer Videos link at the top), within 4 days of the original filming. Your video can be watched online, or you can download a high quality copy to your computer.
DVD copies are also available, however they must be ordered 5 days in advance, and come at an additional charge. This is due to differing DVD regions and signals (PAL / NTSC).
Adults (17+): 9,800 JPY per person.
